Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

8 April 2011

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of items being sold, normally online, have actually gone through no quality control and there can be no about their safety.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the result drugs like this might have on your health."
